San Diego

CRACK SHACK

Summary

What is the first thing you do when you get out of a spa in Mexico? Eat wrong…., but, oh so right!!!! After 4 days of no meat or chicken & on the way to the San Diego airport, stopped at Top Chef Richard Blais’s new fast casual Crack Shack, which is next to his awesome restaurant Juniper & Ivy. Everything was amazing except, they forgot the fast in the fast casual….Desperate & literally waiting as the the meter in the cab was running, it took 20 minutes to get my meal. The LD devoured the Schmaltz FRIED Fries….)(in the LD’s top 15 French fry list).. Then packed my lunch bag & ran to the airport where after checking my bags, proceeded to devour the Chicken Lollipops with Tograrashi & Lemon, which were Awesome . The next item was the Firebird Chicken Sandwich- spicy fried thigh, cool ranch, crispy onions,& pickles on a potato roll… another top 15 item! Lastly the s’more cookie was delicious. The LD wishes he didn’t rush it, but the food much like at J&Ivy was amazing. If it didn’t take so long to get, the LD would’ve shot 5, but on this adventure they get 4 Silver Bullets, hopefully on another adventure the speed will increase & we can fire away. This well worth the stop from Baja, & hope to journey back in the near future. Yummy+

I, too, stopped at this amazing place on my way home from San Diego ICSC!! I do NOT eat fried chicken but always dream of it….and this was the stuff dreams are made of. Loved every bite and will go back for more.
