Summary
On another journey to Downtown LA, The LD ventured to Chef Tim Hollingsworth’s( a Per Se alumnus & is also a partner in Barrel & Ashes) Otium, next to the Broad Museum. Starting with the Roasted Banana Cocktail consisting of Dry Ice, Rum, Lime Olio Sacrum, & Cacao Nib, it fueled the adventure on the right track. The Hamachi with Nori, avacado, & sweet and sour tomatoes was tasty. The the Falafel with eggplant, cucumber, meyer lemon & chick pea was very good. Next on the agenda was the lamb, with pine nuts, pole beans, tomato, & yogurt was excellent. Lastly, the Banana Cream Grand Macaron was good. As you can see from the pictures, they definitely take the art of plating, seriously. The restaurant has opened this past year, & the design is very modern, including a patio with a fire pit. This was well worth the drive & The LoneDiner looks forward to another drive through in the near future. The LD fires up 4 Silver Bullets on this extraordinary trip.
