Brooklyn

Antica Pesa

Summary

An adventure with a trusted scout across the bridge to Williamsburg/Brooklyn..Hipsterville. We were recommended to this location by another trusted scout, who had recently eaten at their sister restaurant in Rome. Well, the service was very poor, unfortunately the busboy & the bartender were very good, however, the 2 waiters( one who’s family owns the place), were virtually non-existent & unfortunately made it,a food experience that we don’t want to remember, however, the food itself was ok, and the desserts were good, but the food couldn’t overcome the experience. That happens in the restaurant business unfortunately. But, on to the food….Insalata Estiva with baby arugula & spinach, along with french(not italian) beans, pickled eggplant, cucumber, toasted almonds, & mint yogurt dressing was crunchy & tasty.Le Penne all Norma with fresh roasted San Marzano tomato sauce, ricotta salata cheese, sautéed eggplant, & tomato comfit was ok. The Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe which was Imported Italian pasta was just ok,as well…( However, the desserts were tasty. The Dolcezza a Starti & The Cioccolato Pistachio e Ciliegie, were not only works of art, but were delicious. The LD enjoyed the trip & the evening with trusted scout, but we both agreed that the service caused me to fire 2 Bullets across the bridge. It was a fun adventure & I look forward to another journey in that area, however, we don’t plan on visiting here or in Rome in the near future….The journey continues!
