Summary
Bon Appetit’s Magazine’s 2013, best new restaurant in Downtown LA, was worth the journey. The English muffins with uni, burrito, & caviar were excellent. The tomato, watermelon, yogurt & rose salad was good. The stripling, fermented cabbage & woodcut mushrooms was ok. Lastly, the flame grape with matcha, sake lees & yuba desert was very good.The 39 seat restaurant was half full on a Tuesday, and Unfortunately, within days of the LD’s meal, the owners Ari Taymor & Ashleigh Parsons announced that they will close at the end of the month. The restaurant business is very tough & hard to survive & these pioneers of the downtown scene with seasonal tasting menu, are not making it. I would guess that they will pop up somewhere else in the near future. The LD’s adventure there was a 3 Silver Bullet event & wish them good luck in their future endeavors.
