Au Cochon

4

Summary

The Grand Opening of Zack Sklar’s newest concept Au Cochon, this was one of the best first night’s that I’ve been too. The restaurant wasn’t busy, but the service & food were excellent for an opening. Starting with My ” Smoke & Mirrors” drink, made with resposado tequila, orange liquor, lemon& watermelon was very good. I tasted the french onion soup which had a very good burgundian taste( it had a gruyere crostini). The POMME FRITES were excellent!!!! from someone that is an pf/french fry aficionado. The 24 oz RIBeye, cooked in red wine was good, but too salty. The Steak frites ( flat iron) was good, and my kemosabe, raved about the Skating with cauliflower. My side of mushroom-lentil ragout was very tasty. The Profiteroles were too cruncy/for my tastes, but Pithier_ with almond creme & amaretto creme fruit was excellent. The LoneDiner was glad that he pulled up here & looks forward to the next adventure. Taking all thing into consideration they earned 4 Silver Bullets on this trip, especially when you have a drink named ” Holy Smokes Batman”, some good nostalgia.
