Summary
Al’s Place in The Mission District was named Bon Appetit’s top new restaurant in the country & the LD might not totally agree, but it is right up there & well worth the journey. Starting with the Brine Pickled French Fries with smoked apple sauce, the on to the Blistered and smoked brassicas, brocamole, burrito, & pink lady vines which were excellent. The Foie Gras was amazing,as was Campanelle pasta with smoked fumet, charred asparagus pesto,& goat’s gouda.Lastly the Baked Strawberry, coconut, swarnadwipa was the right way to cap off an awesome meal Also you might not be able to tell from the picture, but the kitchen crew/chef work out of some pretty tight quarters, but do a great job..Wow…This was a fun expedition & well worth waiting outside their door till opening…) This was another adventure well worth noting & the LoneDiner fires up 4 Silver Bullets into the San Francisco food scene/sky.
