Summary
Well known restauranteur Bill Chait’s somewhat “comeback” was this stop on the LoneDiner’s latest journey. Partnering with 2 Star Michelin Chef(Helene Darroze in London) Raphael Francois this Sunset Blvd.’s new hot spot was a fun adventure. A French/European cuisine, The LD started with,The Melon Degeneres(play on a star?) drink with mescal, floc de gascogne, cantaloupe, & herbs de provence was tasty. The high spots at this Hollywood Scene location was the “Onion Rings” with tartar sauce, really…), also the “Epigram of Lamb” in the pyrex bowl was very good cooked for hours in confit, with fried garlic(yummy), persuade, barley, & plums. The Double Brie with Black truffles & country toast was ok. The Lobster sausage with “duck fat fries” & beurre blanc sauces fair….on to the desserts from pastry chef Sally Camacho… The Black Forest cake was with Kirsch cherries & sorbet was so-so, was expecting something more “old school” like. The Chocramel was tasty…Milk chocolate, honey, carmel, & peanuts…yeah, now we’re talking….)… The restaurant had a “cool” vibe with positive energy, running through it. Was definitely an interesting a place & will consider it again in the future, but it didn’t hit on all cylinders. My compatriots enjoyed, so, the LD will fire up 3 Silver Bullets on this road trip, but will have higher expectations the next time around….The Adventure continues & as the LD rides literally onto & into the Sunset, we’ll see where the journey continues.
